North State Arts Education Consortium Logo
NSAEC is a consortium of nine counties in Northern California that have joined together to expand access to arts education for our students.
This network was initiated in January 2019 with a grant from California Department of Education Student Support Funds. Since the grant period ended in September 2019, we now serve as an information clearing house on arts education for the north state.

Summer Institute 2019
I had an amazing time as a member of the NSAEC... collaborating, learning, and applying the arts (and my new learning from this journey) in my own teaching world. Thanks for taking us on this amazing journey!”
– Janet Furr-Kalpakoff, Classroom Teacher, Palermo Middle School, Butte County

I just wanted to share a little of what the [NSAEC project] did for my music classroom and the 700 students I see each week! Today was day 3 of implementing materials, instruments and curriculum from the grant. It has been the most glorious 3 days! The look on the kids faces when they walk in is priceless! I didn’t mention the 200 recorders we got for 3rd grade or the outdoor risers so we have room for performances and music center for our special needs classroom. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
– Abbie Ehorn, Music Teacher, Evergreen Elementary, Tehama County
This [NSAEC project] was life changing for our school! Because of this grant we have a classroom dedicated to the arts-visual, media, theatre and dance that are integrated across the curriculum.”
